Rules & waiver of liability

The group-camp rules, then the waiver. Both are required to join — please read the full waiver below.

  • Fires in designated areas only, never left unattended. No gathering wood — bring it or buy it near the park. Fires may be banned over the weekend; we'll check current restrictions.
  • No amplified music — the site borders a residential neighborhood.
  • No kegs or alcoholic punch bowls.
  • Pets leashed at all times.
  • We're each responsible for full cleanup before we leave — no exceptions.
  • No water balloons or egg tosses (an actual park rule), and park on gravel, not the lawn.
  • Full rules: Washington State Parks rules & regulations ↗

Assumption of Risk, Waiver & Release of Liability

This is a private, informal, non-commercial gathering of attendees. In consideration of being allowed to participate in the Beacon Rock Group Camp trip (July 3–5, 2026, Washington State Parks site G1) (the "Event"), I, the participant (and on behalf of any minor in my care, my heirs, family, and estate), agree to the following. In this waiver, the "Released Parties" means the event organizer(s) and host(s), the person collecting registrations and payments, and every other attendee, volunteer, and participant in the Event.

1. Voluntary participation & assumption of risk. I am taking part entirely voluntarily. I understand that camping, driving and carpooling, hiking, swimming and water activities, fires and cooking, food prepared by others, alcohol use by others, weather, terrain, wildlife, and group activities carry inherent and unforeseen risks — including illness, food allergies and reactions, injury, property loss or damage, disability, and in rare cases permanent injury or death. I knowingly and freely assume all such risks, both known and unknown, for myself and any minor in my care.

2. Personal responsibility. I am solely responsible for my own and my party's health, safety, medications, insurance, equipment, transportation, belongings, and decisions during the Event. The Released Parties are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged property, or for my transportation to, from, or during the Event.

3. Waiver, release & covenant not to sue. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the Released Parties from any and all claims, demands, liabilities, costs, or damages of any kind arising out of or related to my participation in the Event, whether caused by the ordinary negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise. I understand the organizer is hosting this purely as a fellow participant and assumes no duty or liability for the conduct, acts, or omissions of any attendee or third party.

4. Indemnification. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claim, loss, or liability (including reasonable attorney's fees) brought by me, my party, or any third party arising out of my acts, omissions, or participation in the Event.

5. Rules & conduct. I agree to follow all applicable laws, Washington State Parks rules, posted notices, current fire restrictions, and the reasonable instructions of park rangers and the organizer. The organizer may remove anyone for unsafe conduct or rule violations without refund.

6. No alcohol, drugs, or illegal substances. I will not bring or use any alcohol, illegal drugs, or controlled or illegal substances at the Event. I understand I may be removed without refund for violating this, and I am solely responsible for any consequences of my own conduct.

7. No refunds. I understand that my payment covers my share of the trip's actual costs — the group campsite, food, drinks, and supplies — which the organizer books and pays for in advance. My payment is therefore non-refundable — including if I leave early, am asked to leave or am removed, or do not attend — except if the organizer cancels the entire Event, in which case my payment will be returned. I agree to this when I pay.

8. General. I confirm I am 18 or older, or I am the parent/legal guardian signing on behalf of a minor and accepting these terms for them. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Washington. If any part is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. I have read and understood this waiver and sign it freely.

All three boxes are required to join.
